The Bishop Mueller Library is an academic library focused on serving members of the Briar Cliff University community and the Siouxland area. Our collection consists of 50,000 monographs, 250,000 premium eBooks, millions of journal articles, reserves, blu-rays & DVDs, streaming videos, and many other resources. The library is named for Joseph Maximilian Mueller, bishop of the Sioux City diocese from 1948-1970. The building was fully automated and renovated in 1993, and now offers a complete range of resources and services. In addition to housing Briar Cliff University's private single rooms on the upper floors, the Noonan Hall also houses our campus's business offices. Here is where you will go if you need help with: -financial aid -scholarships -transcripts and registrar -paying student accounts -residence life -security concerns -questions about your work-study -alumni or donor relation Finally, this building also houses the University President and Dean's offices, and the campus's print shop.

Heelan Hall is the Briar Cliff Campus's oldest original building. It is now home to the majority of the University's academic departments, classrooms, and student services though when it was first built, Heelan Hall housed everything from dorm rooms to the campus chapel and cafeteria. The building is named after the Most Rev. Edmond Heelan, the former Bishop of Sioux City whose guidance and support were fundamental to the founding of Briar Cliff University. The building — and the college — were dedicated on Sept. 18, 1930, with Bishop Heelan leading the ceremony. The University’s academic growth required expansion, and a fourth-story addition was built in 1948. The most recent renovations took place in 2012, with the addition of new classrooms, a revamped bookstore, state-of-the-art nursing, biology, chemistry, and digital media laboratories; and an 8,150-square-foot atrium and coffee shop that have become a favorite stop for students between classes.
